On Friday, January 26th, 2024, attendees were transported into a new era of celebration as they entered the Stars of Williston Awards event hosted by the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce. This year's proceeds were directed to the Western Star Foundation, which supported sustainable solutions for educational initiatives, leadership, and professional, and workforce development for Williston Area Chamber of Commerce Members and the Williston Community.

Central to their efforts is the Lemon University program, which has been instrumental in shaping the entrepreneurial mindset of children. With a membership base exceeding 530 and reaching over 7,500 employees, the Chamber of Commerce stands poised to venture forward, solidifying its pivotal role in fostering a thriving business environment and nurturing a strong sense of community in the year ahead.
The launch of the Discover Williston App marks a significant milestone for the Williston community in 2023. This innovative mobile application provides locals and visitors with a comprehensive guide to the array of community events and businesses in the area. Whether it's exploring the thriving local businesses, staying updated on upcoming events, or discovering the multitude of recreational opportunities, the app serves as an invaluable tool for enhancing community engagement and fostering a deep sense of connection within Williston. With its user-friendly interface and wealth of information, the Discover Williston App undoubtedly enriches the experience of both residents and tourists, offering a captivating snapshot of all that this vibrant community has to offer.

Champion of Agriculture- Winner Ryan Ellis

As a local farmer and Vice President of the ND Grain Growers Board of Directors, Ryan has exemplified outstanding stewardship of land and livestock, advocacy for agricultural issues, and the application of cutting-edge technology in farming practices. His passion for agriculture is not only evident in his own farming endeavors but also in his dedication to educating the community on the vital importance of the industry. E. Ward Koeser Award- Winner Cory Hanson

Throughout his tenure as a county commissioner, Cory has exemplified unwavering commitment and courage, playing a pivotal role during the remarkable growth of the Williston community. His contributions extend beyond his role as a county commissioner, having dedicated numerous years to the Williston Parks and Recreation Department as well as serving as a volunteer firefighter for over two decades. Chamber Connector Award- Winner Jessica George
The prestigious Chamber Connector Award was conferred upon Jessica George, in recognition of her outstanding commitment to networking and connecting Chamber membership with the community. Demonstrating unwavering dedication to embodying the core values of the Chamber, Jessica has proven to be an exemplary ambassador for both the Chamber and the Williston Area. Having been an integral part of Mountrail Williams Electric Company following her relocation from Michigan, Jessica’s proactive engagement in community affairs has been nothing short of remarkable. Her exemplary leadership as the Chamber President for the past two years has been instrumental in guiding the organization through a significant transitional phase. Furthermore, her active involvement in various community initiatives such as the Williston Community Builders, Upper Missouri Relay for Life, and her contributions within her local church serve as a testament to her unwavering commitment to fostering meaningful connections and driving positive change within the community. Jessica George’s well-deserved recognition as the recipient of the Chamber Connector Award serves as a testament to her exceptional dedication and invaluable contributions to the Williston Area.
Community Engagement Award- Winner Rachel Linn

As an employee at Thrivent Financial, Rachel has dedicated her time and efforts to various non-profit organizations in the Williston area. Her active involvement in the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce board, the Wilkinson PTO, ND Dollars for Scholars, and her role as the Giving Trees Founder showcases her commitment to making a positive impact within the community. Furthermore, Rachel's initiative in founding Williston's 100 Strong demonstrates her leadership and determination to bring about positive change.
